DREAM was created by Chicago Shakespeare Theatre to bring free and accessible Shakespeare not only to the parks of Chicago but with the aid of its surrounding artists. We partnered with musicians, dancers, rappers, Dj's and sculptural artisans from each neighborhood we visited to devise an original and free adaptation of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The aim of the program was to incorporate the people we serve into the development process, bridging the gap between the theatre's home on Navy Pier and the city at large.
